Detroit News: Tigers sign catcher Bryan Holaday to minor-league deal
By Evan Woodbery | ewoodbery@mlive.com
JUPITER, Fla. -- Catcher Bryan Holaday is back with the Detroit Tigers.
He signed a minor-league contract on Friday and was assigned to Triple-A Toledo.
Holaday, 29, was originally drafted by the Tigers in the sixth round out of TCU in 2010. He played briefly with the big-league club from 2012-2015.
Out of options last spring, Holaday failed to make the team and was traded to the Texas Rangers at the end of spring training. In August, after the Rangers designated him for assignment, he was claimed on waivers by the Boston Red Sox.
