Peterson: Cyclones have bigger issues than playing basketball

AMES, Ia. — An Iowa State victory over TCU on Wednesday at Hilton Coliseum wouldn't be as big a deal as what’s going on inside the basketball locker room.
There’s more important, real-life stuff going on within Steve Prohm’s team than a pretty meaningless basketball game.

Tragedy: Donovan Jackson
“First and foremost, our thoughts and prayers are with Donovan and all his family up there (in Milwaukee),” Prohm said during his weekly press conference Monday. “That’s most important.”
Saturday’s 78-66 loss at Kansas State wasn’t even on anyone’s radar around 8 p.m. Saturday when Jackson learned that his 52-year-old father died back home in Milwaukee.
