From Staff Reports

FORT WORTH, Texas — No. 12 Oklahoma snapped a three-game losing streak with a 4-2 win over No. 11 TCU on Tuesday.

OU pitcher Jeremy Erben, who improved to 6-0 on the season, entered the game in the bottom of the first inning in relief of starter Drew Verhagen. Erben threw a career-high 7 2/3 innings and allowed two runs, one of which was unearned, off six hits and four walks.

"That was really a good college baseball game,” said OU coach Sunny Golloway. "There was some quality defensive plays tonight along with some great at-bats and quality pitches. Our guys really played well, and I’m proud of the way they responded after last weekend.”

Big 12 rival Texas swept the Sooners in three games last weekend.

Oklahoma (23-6) got on the scoreboard early when Cameron Seitzer doubled in Tyler Ogle in the top of the first inning. Garrett Buechele followed with an RBI single to right.

OU has won five straight over TCU (20-7).

Ryan Duke pitched the last 1 1/3 innings for OU and earned his ninth save of the season in as many opportunities. Duke needs three more saves to tie the school record at 28, held by Jeff Bajenaru.

The Sooners return to action Friday in Norman for a three-game series against Missouri.
