At this point we can start looking at possible bowl destinations. Technically the 5-way tie for second is still in play, but at this point we can narrow our likely options to the NY6 at-large (Cotton, Peach, Fiesta), Alamo and (less likely) the one in Orlando.

Here are the dates and times:

NY6 At-Large
COTTON (Arlington) - Friday, Dec. 29, 7:30 pm CT
FIESTA (Glendale) - Saturday, Dec. 30, 2:00 pm MT
PEACH (Atlanta) - Monday, Jan. 1, 12:30 pm ET

Other, in Big 12 Selection Order
ALAMO (San Antonio) - Thursday, Dec. 28, 8:00 pm CT, vs PAC
CAMPING WORLD (Orlando) - Thursday, Dec. 28, 5:15 pm ET, vs ACC
TEXAS (Houston) - Wednesday, Dec. 27, 8:00 pm CT, vs SEC
LIBERTY (Memphis) - Saturday, Dec. 30, 11:30 am CT, vs SEC

they blew up the georgia dome last nite. so that's out.

acoustics suck at alamo bowl, so we should refuse.

a return to jerry's world after whippping OU there. deja view all over again.

fiesta...really! only if we can play boise state

can we get and invite to Shreveport. it hits all targets...out of town, gambling, mardi gras fun themed

If we beat Baylor, we'll get no less than the Alamo bowl, and a NY6 bowl is a very good possibility win or lose in the championship game.

There's still a very narrow rope-bridge across a massive chasm to the CFP though:

1. We need a 3 loss Stanford to beat Notre Dame and win the Pac-12. So root for Washington in the Apple Cup, and Stanford against Notre Dame. We don't want a 2 loss USC to win the Pac-12, or Notre Dame to finish with 2 losses. Washington State as a 2-loss conference champ would undesirable completion as well. Stanford is our best friend right now.

2. Then we need Bama, Wisconsin, and Miami to run the table. We want all 3 undefeated and into the CFP as 1,2,3 seeds. If this happens, it inflicts losses upon basically everyone in front of us that we need to hurdle.

3. Finally, we have to beat Baylor and OU.

That leaves us with TCU, Georgia, Clemson, Penn State, and Washington as potential contenders at 2 losses. TCU is the only conference champion in that mix. Stanford would be the other conference champion, but with 3 losses.

Wouldn't mind a bowl in Barrow, Alaska, Call it The Yeti Bowl. They have the field ready --

I heard a rumor that they tried everything, but no matter how hard they scrubbed, cleaned, or bleached, they just couldn't get the rebel remnants out. The only choice left they had was to implode. That's probably just a rumor.
went to the peach bowl and a NY eve party downtown later that nite. the date was driving and we got lost in the bowls of hotlanta. as we were driving we heard of bunch of pops and the dates says "heh fireworks"...i said "no , drive by..step on it"!

Other people call that the "bowels" of Atlanta. "Bowls" sounds better.
