Baylor is currently up 3-0 on OU in the top of the 9th.

4-0 now after a solo HR.

Baylor wins Game 1.

Think they are going with a surprise and starting Sublette. He’s a true freshman that has only thrown 22.2 innings and has an ERA of 8.34, so hopefully we can get to him.
If that is accurate TooCold, they obviously don't have a great deal of respect for the Frogs' bats!! Trying to save their better arms for the next two games. Could be VERY risky strategy.

KU beat us last year in the 7-seed/2-seed game. Looks like they want s repeat upset in the 8/1 game this year.

I’m also surprised Tech is saving arms tonight. They’re a borderline top 8 national seed. I’d try to get into the winners bracket with a 2-0 start and take the odds. An 0-2 tournament might drop them from a top 8 to 9-16, making it much less likely they can host a super.

Haven’t followed the top 8 seeds well. Would a UT sweep position them for a national seed? I would have to think they’d have a good argument with such a strong finish and 2 titles.

Or since they punched their post season ticket already and probably won’t be a national but will be a host regardless of where the finish in the b12 - they may be more than happy to try some new ideas and if they go home, they get more rest

While OSU’s run last year was pretty amazing - it was also helped by their running into a few teams that were trying new rosters and rotations for potential scenarios they could see in the post season and not being worried about going home from OKC early to get some rest

Texas gets the lead off man on in the bottom of the 9th. KU leads 3-1.

Edit: 1 Horn down and a pitching change by KU looking for the last 2 outs

Edit: a walk puts the tying run on 1st and the winning run at the plate.

Edit: another fly ball gets a second out. Runners on the corners now.

Edit: single makes it 3-2. Tying run on 3rd. Winning run on 1st. 2 outs.

#8 KU upsets #1 UT after the #5 Baylor upset of #4 OU

KU and Baylor play tomorrow morning with the winner advancing to the semifinal. The loser of that game or the winner of the UT-OU elimination game will have to win 3 in a row to advance to tha championship game.

Would love to see the same lower-seed upsets happen again tonight on the other side of the bracket.

As it’s after 4 pm, it’s a safe bet the TCU-Tech game won’t start until after 8 pm.
