Fort Worth Regional paired with Lubbock Regional and both have to start early for BYU

That'll teach us a lesson for displacing the beloved SEC and ACC as the #1 RPI conference (something that hasn't happened since at least 2007)

I remember Arizona from a few years back. Games took forever because their batters stalled between each pitch.

Wasn't just their batters. Their catcher stared into the dugout for 20 seconds between each pitch waiting for the pitching coach to make up his mind what he wanted to call. Someone has got to get that crap out of baseball. And the "offensive timeout" crap too.

While we all wait for the bracket tomorrow, who follows recruiting and the draft?

In 2018, Frogs need to replace the following starters:
C (Skoug probably gone/draft)
2B (Warner graduated)
SS (Merrill and Hesse graduated)
3B (Barzilli graduated)
CF (Brown graduated, Williams graduated)
Howard/Traver (Janczak is draft eligible, too, IIRC)

Humphreys looking like the next man behind the plate
Wade probably slides to CF / Ingraham to RF? Or CW in RF with ML sharing 1st with Baker?
No clue where we are with the infielders. Franson at 3b?
Looks like we have several freshman inf coming in - https://www.perfectgame.org/Rankings/Recruiting/CollegeCommits.aspx?ID=1742&g=2017
Does Shane Baz project as a starter? Looks like he will probably end up in FW, though it may be a close call -- he wants college but could be drafted pretty high http://www.minorleagueball.com/2017/2/23/14697056/shane-baz-scouting-report-2017-mlb-draft

Yep... We have a lot to replace in the lineup next year, rotation should be OK thanks to current depth.

It's nice to have a guy like Baker in the middle of the lineup, and we also have (if they all make it in) the best recruiting class on paper in TCU Baseball history. I talked with some NL West org guys during spring training about Baz, I am told he will either go 1-15 or not at all. They believe he will go, and teams will let him go both ways. The mistake teams made with Baker won't be made on Baz, they will sign him.

Also hear its questionable Gonzalez makes it in, teams really like him (especially Arizona).

I expect Franson will get a chance, but he has to be able to hit. Freshmen WILL get a chance in the infield. Wanhannen will also likely try to make a go of it at 2B.

Baz does project as a starter... I think they've told him to look at Baker's freshman year as an example of how they will use Shane. Really a perfect situation for TCU, they know have real examples to help recruit the increasing number of guys who go two-ways legitimately.
