No Game Day for the TCU at Okie State game. They just announced they are going to New York City instead next week. Take that Big XII.

Who cares? Do you think this is some anti-Big 12 statement?

The teams, IF we both win this week, will probably be ranked around #8 and #17. It'll be a huge game for us, but from a national perspective that's not exactly THAT great a matchup. If we keep winning, Gameday will follow, trust me.

When I think college football, the first thing that pops into my head is... New York City.

I do not really like the choice by GameDay. I was pretty confident they were going to go to Iowa City for the Penn State-Iowa game, so I am not too terribly disappointed CGD is not going to Stillwater. However, them choosing a random location like NYC instead of going to another college campus really bums me out. I would understand if they went to an FCS game next week because the FBS games aren't great. I would be fine with them choosing Fargo. Them choosing NYC just stinks and takes away from what has made CGD great.

Edit: I have also hated when they have gone to neutral site stadiums in Arlington or Atlanta. I love when they go to college campuses. I think that is what makes the show unique.

CGD from Times Square is awesome. Too bad it comes during a week that we have a big game, but that should be a is really cool atmosphere.

Last year they went to ZERO B12 games, and passed up #8 OU at #10 WVU so they could go to Western Michigan vs Buffalo instead. I agree with you on certain things, but this is not one of them

Sorry for the crazy response above. I had an old unposted reply in there somewhere. I was going to say GP hates night games because they put him several hours behind his preferred schedule. I think he would be happy with all 11 am starts

Random observation. This is the first time this game is being played on an ESPN network (has been on a fox network the last 5 years).

I know it was on ESPN in 2010, because it included my single favorite Rod Gilmore is an idiot quote:
One of our LBs came in and just wrecked Kyle Padron, Gilmore starts going off about how that was helmet-to-helmet (I don't think "targeting" was a thing yet) and how it should have been flagged. The replay then showed that he hit him square in the chest, to which Gilmore responded:
"Well, to me, the intent was there, and he was aiming for his head. To me, you have to call that just based on the intent of where he was trying to hit him, because you can't allow him to hit the guy's head like that".

Rod Gilmore: PreCrime specialist.

I think you're thinking of SMU. We never played Ok State in 2010. This is the Ok State thread.

NYC is always awesome. But isn't the point of CGD to have a bunch of rabid CFB fans on the set? This will just have a bunch of rabid random New Yorkers.

Concur.
I remember one or five years ago CGD went to Boston and while campus background foliage & buildings looked good there was a pathetic "crowd" of maybe 50 & a few others that were wandering in & out of the gathered. Even when Fowler turned & asked verbosely if they were awake got no response from the sleepy and/or stoned few out there.

Weak schedule for the weekend left networks looking for more content, I have to think ESPN stepped up. Fox is only guaranteed the 1 placement (J-State this year) from TCU's football home slate.
