FORT WORTH – No. 3 TCU used a two-out rally in the seventh to push across the go-ahead run in a 6-5 victory over No. 16 Oklahoma State Saturday night at Lupton Stadium. Evan Skoug’s second hit of the night drove in the game-winning run.

The Rundown
Runs came in bunches for both squads, but it was a pair of one-run innings for TCU that proved to be the difference.

TCU jumped out to a four-run lead in the third. Austen Wade got things going with a hustle, one-out double in the third. Cam Warner put the Frogs on top with a base hit up the middle. Josh Watson extended the lead to two with a two-out single. The Oklahoma State infield gifted the Frogs a pair of runs with two errors on a ball hit by Nolan Brown.

Oklahoma State answered with a five-spot in the top of the sixth. The Cowboys loaded the bases with nobody out. Jon Littell cut the lead in half with a two-run single and Cade Cabbiness tied it with a 2-run triple. An error put the Cowboys in front, 5-4.

The Frogs battled back to tie the game in the bottom of the frame. Luken Baker opened the inning with a base hit and moved to third on a dropped fly ball in right. Nolan Brown’s grounder to second tied the game.

In the seventh, Wade worked a two-out walk and moved to second on a Warner base hit. Skoug came through with a base hit up the middle to drive in Wade with the eventual game-winning run.

Trey Morris (1-0) picked up his first career win in relief of Nick Lodolo. He allowed an unearned run on two hits in two innings of work. Haylen Green struck out two in a perfect eighth inning. Durbin Feltman pitched around a one-out single in the ninth for his sixth save of the season.
